Make Point

MAKE POINT allows the creation of a 1 pin component anywhere on the display. The MAKE POINT feature will make a new single pin component anywhere you choose and the resultant name and pin will be COMPXXXXYYYY.1 where XXXX is the X coordinate of where the new component pin is located and YYYY is the Y coordinate of where the new component pin is located.

The MAKE POINT feature may be used for a number of reasons and a common one is when making an assembly program there may not be a clear fiducial mark to use as a reference point when creating the Pick & Place assembly program. So MAKE POINT can be used in place of the fiducial and then that component and pin made with MAKE POINT can be used as the reference point of the Pick & Place assembly program. Additionally if desired the component and pin made with MAKE POINT can be reset to be the new 0,0 of the board.

TO USE THE "MAKE POINT" FEATURE: Click EDIT from the main menu then click MAKE POINT.

If you wish to change the name of the Make Point created to another such as FID1 then you can remove the component and then rename it. For details go to the ProntoGERBER-CONNECTION software installation and tutorial page.
