Sample Library: Assembly Cost By Part Number

In the example library below were illustrating one of the possible ways to calculate assembly cost for the PC Board.

For example on the first line for part number 391727-10-9 those components will be assembled on a Mydata/Mycronic assembly machine with a placement rate of 8000 components per hour and the overhead at that station is calculated at $125 per hour. So in the third field we put the effective rate per placement which would be   0.015625=125/8000 . So from the Unisoft quoting menu feature when we run the assembly cost by part number it will simply take the number of components that have part number 391727-10-9 and multiply it by 0.015625. So the quoting menu feature will do this for each matching part number on the PC Board that is in the library and tabulates the total assembly cost for those part numbers.

There can be as many Library files as desired, and this example Library file above can contain an unlimited amount of part numbers. The part numbers listed above, such as 391727-10-9, 391727-12-5, etc., in this example library are in-house and not standardized part numbers. Where possible, it's best to have a part number that's linked to a standard, such as the Manufacturer Part Number (MPN). For example, these are MPN part numbers: CC0402CRNPO9BN2R2, RC0201JR-0710RL, DS520-30EAA02. The MPN part number is a unique code used to identify different component parts, and they are standard and universally recognized.
