The
MARKUPX.INI or MARKUP.INI files contain
any customization you may have added to the Unisoft software, such as custom BOM
importer templates, custom XYR importer templates, custom Assembly Cost quoting
templates, display fonts and colors, etc., and it is recommended to backup these files.
As of Unisoft software
version 5.24.0.0, the
MARKUP.INI file is replaced by the
MARKUPX.INI
file, which is essentially the same file but located in a different directory.
To find the software version when the software is first started, the
licensing window will be displayed and the version number will be found there as
in the figure below. After starting the software, clicking HELP then ABOUT will
display the same licensing window.
VERSIONS 5.24.0.0 AND NEWER: For software version 5.24.0.0 or newer, the MARKUPX.INI file is usually located in the directory c:\users\USERXXX\documents\Unisoft , where USERXXX is the user account that you are logged into. It is recommended to backup this file.
VERSIONS OLDER THAN 5.24.0.0: For software versions older than 5.24.0.0, the MARKUP.INI file by default is located in the directory c:\windows\markup.ini . Note that on some PCs running Windows, the latest copy of your Markup.ini file may be in the VirtualStore directory and not in the Windows directory. It is advisable to check this directory and if the MARKUP.INI file exists there then backup that copy of the MARKUP.INI file because that's where your most recent personal copy of that file resides and not in the Windows directory. If you do have a VirtualStore directory, it will usually be under your USER directory c:\user\USERXXX\appdata\local\virtualstore\windows where USERXXX is the user account that you are logged into. And the file you're looking for there is the MARKUP.INI file and if the file exists please make a backup copy and not the same file in the Windows directory.
